KGHS Community Open House - Nov 6th

Wednesday, November 6th from 5-7pm Kenmore-Garfield High School will open it doors to its cluster and surrounding community families. Families of middle school and high school students are welcome to visit KGHS to get more information about the Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways available to their students.  The CTE pathways will be paired with our community business partners to help explain and highlight the career opportunities available to their students upon completion of the career pathway.  


At 5:30pm our very special guest speaker, Dr. Tyrone Howard, will be speaking on the subject of “ Parenting in Today's World”.  Dr. Tyrone HowardDr. Tyrone Howard is a Professor of Education at UCLA in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies’ Urban Schooling Division. He is also the Director and Founder of the Black Male Institute at UCLA, which is an interdisciplinary cadre of scholars, practitioners, community members, and policy makers dedicated to improving the educational experiences and life chances of Black males. 


KGHS Culinary ProgramThe KGHS Culinary Arts program will be offering up some wonderful fall flavors to all families that complete the career pathway scavenger hunt. Other booths to visit that evening will be KGHS clubs and activities, along with our college readiness partners.
